More women die of cardiovascular disease than all forms of cancer combined. Wear red on February 7 to remind women to take care of their hearts.

Here are some ways to reduce your risk of heart disease:

  • Get a check-up
  • Quit smoking
  • Monitor your cholesterol and blood pressure
  • Aim to get some physical activity every day
  • Eat lean proteins, fish, nuts, whole grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables
