Suicide Prevention

Tuesday, August 26, 2014 to Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Suicidal thoughts are common. Suicidal acts, threats and attempts are less common, but more frequent than most people think. Suicide is the most common psychiatric emergency and the 11th leading cause of death in America. Asking the question, ‘are you thinking about killing yourself?’ could lead to a person not following through with ending their life

Faculty and Staff Services/Employee Assistance Program and the Crisis Center of Johnson County work together to bring suicide prevention trainings to you. QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) is a presentation designed to increase your ability to assist a suicidal person in getting help. Contact us for more information.
