Join liveWELL this spring for Colorful Choices, a simple nutrition program open to all faculty and staff that runs from March 18 - April 7, 2024. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables of all different colors is important for physical health, immunity, stress management, and boosting energy.

This program does not include measuring or calorie counting, just tracking your fruit and vegetable intake through a quick glance at your plate. When you make a plate, try to fill half the plate with fruits and vegetables. Not currently eating fruits and vegetables? That's okay! Start where you are and build your progress throughout the challenge.

How do I participate?

  • Track your daily fruit and veggie intake on the Colorful Choices Tracking Sheet.
  • Aim for three plates a day that are filled halfway with fruits and vegetables. Mark the number of plates you fill and record your total at the end of the week. You can also track your fruit and veggie intake using popular apps such as MyFitnessPal or MyPlate.
  • Employees who register for the program will receive weekly emails with tips and resources for eating more fruits and veggies.
  • Employees who submit the weekly Bonus Codes can earn liveWELL Points.

Why color?

It’s simple and healthful. By spreading daily fruit and vegetable choices across the rainbow of colors, you’re guaranteed the best that produce has to offer for better health. Colors grab the imagination, stimulate the mind and can help reduce stress; each color provides somewhat different nutrients. What better way to healthy habits than with a burst of color!
