The Staff Appreciation Grant program is an opportunity for groups seeking funding for appreciation and recognition efforts in their specific area.

To groups seeking funding for appreciation/recognition efforts in their specific area. (Please note: if you are seeking funding for a campus-wide or Shared Governance event, visit the Staff Council website)
Beginning July 1 for use in fiscal year July 1 - June 30.
Only one time per area per fiscal year.
$10 per employee, up to $300 (max).
First qualified are first served; funding is limited.
Year-round until funding is exhausted.

Please collect the following information prior to completing the online application below:

The MFK to transfer the funds into (you may need to ask your Business Officer).
Your HR Representative and name of the person authorized to approve financial transactions within your department.
A detailed description of how the application funds will be used.

Once your application completes the workflow routing, you will be notified within 10 working days regarding the status of your request.

Please note: The Staff Appreciation Grant application is currently open, but funding is limited.

Local and state parks
Golf/Mini golf
Laser Tag
Game night/Escape rooms
Cooking/drink mixing classes
Picnics
Dinner events/Happy Hour
Speaker
Sporting events within Iowa (i.e. Kernels, Xtreme Arena)
Movie theater / movie nights
Organized group excursions
Fitness challenges offered outside of the University of Iowa as a part of wellness or campus recreation.

Events in this list will NOT be approved for a Staff Appreciation Grant.
