Regular Retiree UIChoice and Dental II Monthly Premiums

When a retiree or their spouse becomes Medicare eligible, they are put into separate policies and charged the appropriate premium based on age and eligibility for the University’s retiree contribution (information below).

If your premiums are deducted from your bank account, the new premium will automatically be deducted.  You do not need to do anything.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you leave coverage under the University health and/or dental insurance plans, you cannot return to purchasing the coverage at a later time.  If you drop coverage at the time of retirement, or if you maintain coverage for a period of time in retirement and then drop it, you cannot return to the university coverage. The exception is, if you currently have health or dental insurance through your own or your spouse's employment, you may enroll in our plans if that coverage ends.

Faculty, Professional & Scientific, and Merit Staff on UIChoice who retired at age 62 or older with 10 years of continuous benefit eligible service at the time of retirement, or who were a part of a special early retirement program in effect prior to 2009, will receive a University contribution toward the cost of UIChoice health insurance of $288 per month in 2017.
