A toolkit for involuntary staff terminations is available by contacting Employee and Labor Relations at elr-help@uiowa.edu or 319-467-4142. We strongly recommend that the toolkit be reviewed and checklists completed by the supervisor and the local human resources representative working together prior to informing the employee of termination. The toolkit supports the transition process when an employee is involuntarily terminated. 

The toolkit was created to address key considerations and management best practices before, during and after the termination.
