Child Care Subsidy

The university’s child care subsidy program provides financial assistance for regular or evening/weekend study child care. Applications are accepted starting in August and remain open until funds are depleted. 

On-Campus Lactation Rooms

Iowa is proud to provide more than 75 lactation rooms across campus. Family Services encourages new parents to visit the lactation room listings on the HR website to find an accessible location. Parents also are encouraged to contact Family Services to locate a private space if a designated lactation room is not accessible.

Back-up Child Care Options

These resources help you connect to occasional child care providers when your child is ill and unable to go to school, your schedule unexpectedly changes, or you simply want to go out and have a relaxing evening.

University Counseling Services has created a webpage for students who are parents and for faculty and staff who may be interested in helping student parents.
