The University of Iowa Furlough Resume Database Program is intended to assist departments with their employment needs by providing a listing of eligible Professional & Scientific non-organized (P&S) employees who have received a furlough notification letter, or are currently furloughed. These employees will be referred to as furloughed employee(s).
In order to facilitate the placement of furloughed employees, a searchable resume database on a secure Group SharePoint site has been established. This site provides employment information to departments to assist them in meeting their employment needs.
Eligible furloughed employees will be invited to complete the Furlough Information Summary (doc), which includes the employee’s current classification, education, experience, licenses/certifications, specialized skills, as well as previous classifications. They will also be invited to provide an electronic copy of their resume/cv to Compensation and Classification. Compensation and Classification will then post all this information in the site.
The following furloughed P&S staff are eligible to participate in this program:
- Career status staff and Term status staff during their furlough notice period
- Career Status Staff and Term Status staff with two or more years of service during their furlough period (12 months following the furlough notice).
Departments who identify individuals that meet their qualifications will have the ability to interview and hire the furloughed employee for their new or existing position, as long as the position has not been advertised on JOBS@UIOWA. The procedures of the Furlough Networking Program will apply.
Compensation & Classification must grant access to HR Unit Representatives or their designee’s before the employee’s information can be reviewed. They may then access the SharePoint site.
