UI President Bruce Harreld announced the Employment Practices Review in May 2017.

A 14-member committee appointed by UI shared governance leaders drafted a request for qualifications and reviewed proposals from interested firms.

The Employment Practices Committee selected the law firm Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. to review policies and practices related to hiring, promotion, documentation, compensation, and termination of UI faculty and staff.

The review began with the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and will progress to the University of Iowa’s academic and operational units and then to University of Iowa Health Care.
