Emphasis on partnership

Developing a new vision and new systems for talent acquisition is a collaborative process engaging all facets of the university—academics, health care, research, faculty and staff governance, campus-wide HR professionals, leaders, and more. 

The emphasis on partnership will continue as new systems and processes come online. Talent Acquisition@Iowa defines roles for organizational leaders, human resources leaders, hiring departments and others across the recruitment and retention cycle:

  • Organizational leaders set strategy to inform talent acquisition goals and drive workforce result results.
  • HR leaders conduct institutional/organizational workforce planning and alignment.
  • Talent acquisition stakeholders and owners implement key functions across the three talent acquisition focus areas (attract, engage, recruit).
  • Hiring managers hire/place top candidates.
