You have until April the year after your job ends to submit expenses to your Health Care Spending Account and Dependent Care Spending Account. However, the windows for reimbursable expenses differ for these two programs.
Eligible health care expenses must be incurred by the end of the month in which your job ends. You can submit them for reimbursement up until April of the following year. You can continue to submit expenses incurred after the reimbursement-eligibility window if you continue your health insurance coverage using COBRA.
Eligible dependent care expenses must be incurred by the end of the year in which your job ends. You can submit them for reimbursement up until April of the following year.
