April’s Hawkeye High-Fives include shout-outs to employees who are making a difference by supporting others, solving problems, and helping their teams succeed.
Use this Qualtrics form to send a high-five to your colleagues. Once you submit the form, they will receive your message in their email inbox.
Hawkeye High-Five is a peer-to-peer recognition tool that gives the university community an opportunity to celebrate the people whose work supports campus operations, student success, and patient care.
Here are a few of the recognitions submitted in April:
Yolanda Jimenez, revenue cycle representative, Patient Financial Services, was recognized by Ashley Peters
Upon asking for a volunteer to work a special project, Yolanda responded right away to give her time. This was a request we wanted completed by end of month, but Yolanda completed it in less than half a day. This will help reflect appropriate adjustments for the department and correct issues with end-of-month processing. Yolanda is always willing to help when a request goes out, and I appreciate her diligent work to get things done while staying on top of her daily tasks. We are thankful to have you on our team!
Ashley Pieper, clinical research nurse coordinator, Institute of Clinical and Translational Science, was recognized by Courtney Wille
Ashley—We truly appreciate you and all that you do. Your kindness and compassion shine through, and you keep things moving forward no matter what challenges arise, even those last minute ‘Oh, and one more thing’ requests. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication you bring to the studies you coordinate and couldn’t ask for a better colleague in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science. Your contributions are essential, and we are so thankful for you. Thank you for everything!
Alan Ridgway, application developer, Office of Strategic Communication, was recognized by Jackie Biger
Thank you so much for the help during web design office hours. I want my website to be useful, and I am grateful that Alan was willing to walk through my list of questions and needs while also thinking ahead to potential issues I might face next. Thank you for making the interaction feel meaningful and judgment-free.
Ted Neal, clinical professor of science education, Department of Teaching and Learning, College of Education, was recognized by Jolene Teske
Ted, thank you so much for your support of advanced learners in your classes! A student shared how you recognized her ability at the beginning of a course and allowed her to move beyond what the rest of the class was doing to challenge herself. You made a significant impact on this student, and I’m sure many students!
Misty Smith, simulation associate, Nursing Clinical Education Center, was recognized by Amanda Richardson
Misty—I just wanted to send a note to let you know how much you are appreciated. Everyone who works with you is lucky to have such an innovative and amazing person to support our Nursing Clinical Education Center team. From emesis to manikins to wounds, you help us create reality for our nursing students that will make them better prepared for the changing health care environment. We truly could not function without you here at the College of Nursing! Thank you!
