The GLP-1 Pilot will be extended one additional year for current participants to support the development of a sustainable long-term coverage approach under the UI self-funded health plan. This extension provides the time needed to collect and analyze the data required to inform complex plan-design decisions.

All current participants must opt in for the one-year extension by signing a new agreement in May.

Participants who opt in for year three agree to the following expectations:

  • Continue care with current UI Health Care Weight Management provider every six months for medication refills (two visits total).
    • The first visit can be conducted virtually.
    • The final visit must be in person to obtain a clinical weight.
  • Use an oral or injectable GLP-1 medication as determined jointly by the provider and participant.
  • Obtain all GLP-1 medication refills through the UI Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Complete the 2027 Personal Health Assessment.
  • Engage in Health Coaching through liveWELL in 2027 to support ongoing behavior modification.
    • Options include Individual Coaching (virtual or in person) or Group Coaching (calendar and topics available in December 2026).

All existing participants must enroll in the year three extension in May and will receive direct communication from the GLP-1 Pilot Administration.

No new participants will be added for 2027.
