Hybrid work combines on-campus and off-campus work locations. It is available only for job functions that can be performed effectively in both settings and when the arrangement supports unit operations and service delivery.
A hybrid employee performs work from a combination of on-campus and off-campus locations. The specific schedule, work locations, and percentage of time on campus are documented through the Work Arrangement application.
Hybrid employees generally don't have personally assigned on-campus workstations. The university typically provides equipment only for the employee's primary work location. The employing unit and employee should confirm workspace and equipment expectations before the arrangement begins.
Job and service considerations
- Can the position's functions be performed effectively from both locations?
- Will the arrangement support the residential campus experience?
- Will service to students, visitors, employees, patients, and other stakeholders be maintained or enhanced?
- Can the employee meet collaboration, meeting, coverage, and availability expectations?
- Are information security, privacy, equipment, and technology needs addressed?
- What on-campus workspace will be available?
