Biography

Britte has provided direct services to individuals, families, and couples for more than 15 years, providing therapy services for a decade. She has a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in rehabilitation and mental health counseling from the University of Iowa.

Britte believes in counseling as a partnership with the goal of increasing the client's well-being. She has worked in a variety of settings, including a correctional institution, foster care, domestic violence shelter, sexual assault advocacy centers (including RVAP), and in private practice.

Britte comes from a person-centered framework, holding unconditional positive regard for those with whom she works and feels honored to be allowed to be a part of others' journeys. She works with and has been trained in a variety of modalities including narrative therapy, EDMR, and CBT and prioritizes individualizing interventions to meet the goals and needs of those with whom she works. She has extensive experience with trauma survivors and is a certified clinical trauma professional. 

Britte has created and presented trainings and presentations on topics related to mental health and has taught at the University of Iowa Department of Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling.
