The following notifications are intended to give the campus community an annual reminder about important policies that impact Faculty, Staff and Students at the University of Iowa. They will be grouped as outlined below and sent as mass mailings. Audiences and senders vary by message. We have included the PDF files of the mass mailings for many of these notifications during 2018 below for your reference.     The following Annual Policy Notifications will be run once per year, during the month of September, as Spots in Iowa Now. The Office of Strategic Communication in partnership with University Human Resources will be responsible for these messages.

    October

    The following will be grouped into one notification.

    • Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (Cleary Act)

    November

    • No Annual Policy Notifications will be distributed in November

      December

      The following Annual Policy Notifications will be run once per year, during the month of December, as a Spot in Iowa Now. The Office of Strategic Communication in partnership with University Human Resources will be responsible for this message.

      • Severe Weather Policy

      January

      The following will be grouped into one notification.

      • Institutional Conflict of Interest in Human Subjects Research Policy Implementation
      • Conflict of Interest and Commitment

      The following Annual Policy Notification will be submitted for approval to the Chief Human Resources Officer, Associate Provost for Faculty and VMPA. Once approved, this message will be distributed via mass mail to all UI employees who are required by policy to complete an annual disclosure via the COI-Healthcare, COI-Research and COI-W policies.
