The University of Iowa Furlough Resume Database Program is intended to assist departments with their employment needs by providing a listing of eligible non-organized Professional and Scientific (P&S) employees who have received furlough notification letters or are currently furloughed.
All furloughed staff may request to make their resumes/CVs available to UI recruiters through the Furlough Resume Database. For Career Status and Specified Term Status (with more than two years of service in Specified Term Status) this is a separate option from requesting interview priority or interview consideration for positions posted on the Jobs@UIowa website.
Departments that find a qualified applicant prior to advertising their position on Jobs@UIowa may utilize the Furlough Networking Program to interview and hire the furloughed employee. If the hiring department would like to interview the furloughed employee, the department will be responsible for scheduling an interview.
Furloughed employees who want to make their resumes/CVs available in the Furlough Resume Database must contact Compensation and Classification (email@example.com) to initiate this option. Once initiated, the option will remain in effect until the furloughed employee is no longer considered furloughed.
The following furloughed P&S staff are eligible to participate in this program:
- Career Status staff (during furlough notice period and furlough period)
- Specified Term Status staff with more than two years of service in Specified Term Status (during furlough notice period and furlough period)
- Specified Term Status staff with less than two years of service in Specified Term Status (during furlough notice period only)
- At-Will and Probationary Status staff (during furlough notice period only)
Departments that identify individuals who meet their qualifications can interview and hire furloughed employees for new or existing positions as long as the position has not been advertised on Jobs@UIowa. Procedures of the Furlough Networking Program will apply.
