The Iowa Geological Survey (IGS) joined IIHR–Hydroscience and Engineering at the University of Iowa in 2014.
The IGS has more than 130 years of experience in helping to understand and effectively manage Iowa's natural resources for long-term sustainability and economic development.
Participants will tour the geological society's impressive rock library, which includes more than 1.6 million geological samples. You'll also learn about local geologic phenomena, like the meteor that struck Northeast Iowa 470 million years ago.
