My liveWELL Points and the Wellness Store are your personal recognition and reward systems through liveWELL on Self-Service

Earn liveWELL Points in a number of ways including monthly points, special program participation, and Bonus Points!

After earning points, you can spend your points at the Wellness Store. Sign up to receive emails about all point opportunities in "My Reports and Settings" once logged into My Health and Wellness on Self-Service.

Monthly Points

Earn liveWELL points for a number of activities. Monthly, select the healthy behaviors you practiced on a regular basis and earn five points for each healthy behavior checked. Maximum accrual for Monthly liveWELL points is 50 per month. Monthly points can be earned in the following areas:

  • Cardiovascular Activities
  • Strength Training
  • Flexibility
  • Nutrition
  • Stress Management
  • Other Wellness Area/Wellness

Practicing healthy behaviors can impact the risk or severity of many health conditions as well as contribute to better energy and sense of well-being. The healthy behaviors above are related to individual lifestyles practices and health history factors that have the highest impact on individual health, and biometric measures to determine health status.

Bonus Points and Special Programs

Periodically, there will be special programs and events that you can earn additional liveWELL Points for, so be sure to check My Health and Wellness often and sign up to receive emails about point opportunities in "My Reports and Settings."

Badges

Badges are another fun way to recognize your accomplishments on My Health and Wellness. Badges highlight cumulative months of activity, total point accumulation, and prize orders within the portal.

Active Months Badges

These badges highlight total months of point submissions within My Health and Wellness. Activity does not have to be consecutive months to earn these badges.

These badges highlight accumulation of points through participation in Monthly Points or Bonus Points.

Frequently Asked Questions

To earn monthly points, select the navigation link “Earn Points” and select the healthy behaviors you successfully completed for the respective month. Each healthy behavior earns you five points for that month. You can submit monthly points from the first of the month to the 10th of the preceding month. Example behaviors include but are not limited to:

  • I got at least four and a half cups of fruits and vegetables per day. A cup is equal to one cup 100% fruit or vegetable juice, one cup cooked vegetables, two cups raw leafy vegetables, one piece of fruit, or half cup dried fruit.

  • On most days, I performed some type of flexibility training like stretching or yoga for at least 10 minutes each day.

  • I performed a mix of moderate and vigorous aerobic activity that is equal to at least 150 minutes of moderate activity, such as 90 minutes of moderate activity and 30 minutes of vigorous activity each week. Keep in mind that 1 minute of vigorous activity equals about 2 minutes of moderate activity.

  • I do not use tobacco. Tobacco use includes smoking cigarettes and/or cigars, and/or the use of smokeless tobacco.

Faculty and Staff, non-student hourly workers, and temporary employees of the University of Iowa are eligible to participate in this program and earn prizes. Retirees, spouses, dependents, and student-workers are not eligible to participate.
