Welcome to the University of Iowa’s Workers’ Compensation program. We care about your well-being and know how important it is to have a safe and secure work environment. Our commitment to your support is demonstrated through our Workers’ Compensation insurance.

If you get hurt or sick because of your job, our program can help. If your claim is approved, you won’t have to pay for medical treatments related to your injury. Our insurance also provides a portion of your salary to make up for the time you can’t work.

If you get injured at work, we will treat you with dignity and respect. We review all the facts and follow the laws of Iowa and our own policies when handling workers’ compensation claims.

Our website is a useful resource for creating a safe work environment and assisting your return to work. Your safety and well-being are important to us and we are here to support you through the workers’ compensation process.

First Report of Injury

Employees who are injured on the job must complete a First Report of Injury (FROI) within 24 hours of the incident. You can submit a FROI by accessing Employee Self Service, then navigating to Benefits & Wellness and selecting Workers Compensation - First Report of Injury.
