The John Martin Rare Book Room (JMRBR) houses nearly 7,000 volumes of original works that represent classic contributions to the health sciences from the 15th through 21st centuries. The JMRBR specializes in printed works covering anatomy, brain sciences, infectious disease, medicinal plants, midwifery, nursing, the basic sciences, and so much more.
The JMRBR is on the fourth floor of the Hardin Library and is open 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday–Thursday and by appointment on Fridays.

Notes: There is a small parking lot behind the library off Newton Road, however, it's heavily utilized. The Newton Road parking ramp east of the library is more likely to have open parking spots. The walk from the ramp to the library's first floor entrance is about a block.
