Confidential Counseling
The Employee Assistance Program offers a confidential counseling program to University of Iowa faculty and staff who have a permanent, full- or part-time (50 percent or greater) position and their families. The types of problems for which a client could expect assistance include: job stress and conflicts, sleep difficulties, relationship and personal issues, family or parenting concerns, alcohol/substance dependency, as well as many other areas of concern.
EAP is a free benefit to eligible employees. However, EAP does not provide long term treatment. EAP is designed to provide assessment, short-term counseling, and assistance in securing ongoing treatment. Eligible employees may schedule up to four free sessions per year. Our program is primarily seeing people via tele-mental health using Zoom and Skype. We are offering a limited number of face to face visits on our healthcare campus.
