Hawkeye High-Five is a recognition program that allows faculty and staff across the university to give a "high-five" to a colleague for their contributions, teamwork, or extra effort.

Developed by University Human Resources, the program is a great way to show appreciation and highlight the positive impact employees are making across campus.

Below is a selection of high-fives submitted in June through this easy-to-use recognition form.

Mary Schultz, custodian, Iowa Memorial Union, was recognized by Maddie Kramer

^{Mary continues to be a shining light in the IMU. She works hard, does it with a smile that never feels forced, and a positive attitude that genuinely shifts the environment around her.}

^{I can't remember a single moment when she hasn't greeted me with a warm "hello" and a sincere smile. The ripple effect of her welcoming spirit is immeasurable. She brightens days without ever realizing the depth of her impact.}

Tatiana Myers, nurse, UI Stead Family Children's Hospital, was recognized by Elizabeth May

^{I just wanted to thank you for all you do as a bedside nurse.}

^{On a very busy day, you led the unit with grace and hard work, and you are always willing to double-check policies and guidelines to do the right thing. Our nurses and families/patients are lucky to have you! From advocating for a patient so they did not have to go off the floor and be exposed to outpatient infection risks to jumping to help with gosh knows what, your work does not go unnoticed.}

Darrelle Wilkinson, research associate, Department of Physics and Astronomy, was nominated by Chris Piker

^{Darrelle brings to work the best I've seen every day. Many tasks in space physics support are interesting, but there's a lot of less-than-inspiring work that's needed to keep Iowa's participation in NASA missions going. She approaches her work with both enthusiasm and care.}

^{Darrelle also finds time to juggle multiple, conflicting needs of the Juno and TRACERS missions and is in the office every day holding down the fort.}

^{I'm impressed, and as a programmer, thankful to have a beta tester who will put up with new software and all its warts, providing useful feedback at every turn.}

Daunda Sumanasiri and Josh Hopkins, custodians, Facilities Management, were recognized by Colleen Kelley

^{I want to take a moment to thank two of the fabulous custodians who work hard to make the Lindquist Center a welcoming environment every day, often after most of us have gone home for the night.}

^{We recently needed help with a cleaning project in the office, and both Upendra and Josh went above and beyond to get it done. They were prompt, professional, and did a truly amazing job. We are all so fortunate to have such hardworking and dedicated staff taking care of the building and making it a space everyone can enjoy.}

Beth Jaggers, assistant vice president, Financial Strategy, UI Health Care, was nominated by Michelle Borgwardt

^{Thank you to Beth for facilitating an outstanding PACE Palette training session for the finance and accounting team.}

^{Beth created an engaging, interactive learning experience that helped us better understand our own communication styles as well as those of our colleagues. Beyond the training itself, she thoughtfully developed and shared resources that will continue to benefit the team.}
