Eligibility and Plan Description
Regular, benefits-eligible faculty, staff, and house staff may enroll in the Short-Term Disability (STD) insurance plan.
Short-term disability insurance through MetLife helps protect your income if you cannot work due to a covered illness, injury, or pregnancy. This voluntary benefit allows you to receive up to 60% of your earnings, with benefits beginning after 0 days for accidents and 7 days for illnesses. Coverage is available for employees only and can provide benefits for up to 13 weeks, helping bridge the gap until the university's long-term disability coverage may apply.
