The student's experience and background for the particular job should be used as criteria in setting the exact hourly wage.
The University of Iowa minimum wage is $8.20. Currently, the Work-Study program covers 50 percent of the wage (60 percent if the position meets community service guidelines) up to $12.00 per hour. The portion of the wage greater than $12.00 per hour receives no reimbursement.
