Construction will temporarily alter access to the University Services Building, requiring employees and visitors to use the building's east entrance.

Starting Monday, March 16, public access to USB will shift to the east entrance facing Capitol Street. The west entrance adjacent to parking lot 51 will be locked and accessible only to construction personnel.

USB’s east entrance will be unlocked from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Employees with IowaOne keycard access should use the east entrance after hours and on weekends (keycard access to the west entrance will be temporarily deactivated).

Temporary signage will direct visitors to the east entrance. There are no anticipated impacts on parking at this time.

Construction will result in a new Welcome Center on the west end of USB’s first floor, part of a larger project to enhance service to UI faculty, staff, and students. Renovations also will improve space utilization and building security.

Construction is tentatively scheduled for completion July 1, 2020.
