The 2024 Health and Well-Being Fair brought together dozens of units from across campus and UI Health Care, as well as local organizations, to encourage University of Iowa faculty and staff to prioritize health and well-being in all aspects of their lives.
Held in the historic UI Field House, employees visited throughout the day to get their flu shot, have their blood pressure checked, indulge in a chair massage, participate in the Mindfulness Labyrinth, and learn about various on- and off-campus services. Giveaways were present at numerous booths and attendees had the chance to win door prizes as they arrived.
One of the main goals of the Health and Well-Being Fair is to connect UI employees to campus well-being resources like liveWELL's health coaching service, the Employee Assistance Program, Family Services, and more.
This annual event is just one example of the university's ongoing mission to embed health and well-being into all aspects of campus culture. Taking advantage of opportunities like the fair empowers individuals and work units to prioritize mental, physical, and financial health at home and in the workplace.
Participating campus units included Pentacrest Museums, Spiritual Services, UI Health Care Bariatric Surgery, University Employee Health Clinic, the Food Pantry at Iowa, and more.
Sponsors of this year's event included University Human Resources, liveWELL, UI Recreational Services, University of Iowa Health Care, and UI Staff Council.
