Each January, your W-2 and Affordable Care Act (ACA) 1095 tax forms are issued for tax season. You have the option to receive your W-2 either electronically or by mail. By opting for online delivery, you’ll gain access to your forms approximately one week before paper forms are sent out. The IRS permits electronic delivery of these forms with your consent. Once enrolled, your selection will remain in effect unless you update it.

New for the 2025 tax year: In accordance with federal law, the University of Iowa will no longer automatically mail employees Form 1095. Employees may request a printed copy if needed. Learn more on the University Benefits website.

If you leave or retire from the university, your W-2 delivery preference will remain in effect, while any 1095 form will be mailed to the home address listed in Employee Self-Service.
