Tuition Assistance Application Process

  1. Complete and submit your application:
    • Fill out your tuition assistance application and route it via Workflow to your supervisor before the application deadline.
    • If your supervisor is unavailable, select an alternate supervisor from the list, search for their name, and submit.
  2. Supervisor approval:
    • Your supervisor (or alternate) must approve your application by the supervisor’s deadline for it to be considered for an award.
    • Once approved, your supervisor will route the application through Workflow, completing the process.

How Applications are Awarded

UI coursework applications

  • Applications for UI coursework are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as funding allows, based on the order they are received after obtaining supervisor approval.
  • You will receive an email notification with the awarded amount.

External (non-UI) coursework applications

  • If funds are available after awarding UI coursework applications, completed applications for external (non-UI) coursework will be considered after the supervisor's approval deadline.
  • These are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, following the Priority System established by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa.
  • You will receive an email notification with the awarded amount.

Notification

  • You will be notified via email whether or not you have been awarded tuition assistance.
