Cheryl Reardon
Cheryl has built a broad and dynamic portfolio of experiences during her 30-year campus career. She has served in leadership roles in student life, academic administration, research and the economic development enterprise. In her current role, Cheryl provides leadership for HR, employing more than 33,000 individuals on campus.
Prior to her current role, Cheryl was the Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Development and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. She led the organization’s day-to-day administrative operations, overseeing human resources, budget and financial matters, core research facilities, research IT, and pre-award selection activities related to grants and contract administration.
Cheryl holds a Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Ambrose University. She has received the Iowa Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award and the Mary Louise Kelley Staff Excellence Award. She has demonstrated her leadership skills and her commitment to the UI community by serving on numerous university, community, state wide, and national committees.
