liveWELL Health Coach Service

liveWELL offers a one-on-one Health Coach Service free for faculty and staff. Health coaching may focus on stress-related goals and activities to help you relax. Health coaches are available in person, via Zoom, Skype, phone, or email.

Mental Health at Iowa

We're here for you.

The University of Iowa is dedicated to providing quality mental health services and resources to faculty, staff, students, their families, and the community. To best support the UI community, this website was created as a central hub to easily explore the mental health resources available on campus.


Through the practice of mindfulness meditation, you can live a full life with greater balance and ease, even amidst the busyness of daily living or the challenges presented by physical or mental health limitations. 

Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC)

WRAC provides counseling services and support groups to university students, faculty, staff, and the Iowa City community. For assistance call 319-335-1486.  

Substance Use Disorders

University of Iowa Health Care provides outpatient treatment programs for alcohol and drug abuse. Trained staff work through both individual and group counseling sessions. In addition, OWI evaluations are provided. For assistance call 319-384-8765.

Free 40-day online training in mindfulness meditation with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. Each daily 10–15 minute lesson includes a short talk and guided meditation designed to assist in establishing a meditation practice.
