Back to the Basics is a group coaching series that empowers University of Iowa employees to focus on four core foundations of well-being: nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being, and sleep 

What are “the basics”?  

In a world filled with complex health advice, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, confused, and fatigued from making decisions about our health and well-being. "Back to the Basics" is about returning to the foundational well-being practices that support overall well-being. This group coaching series will focus on simple, evidence-based practices that make the biggest difference: nourishing the body with balanced nutrition, staying active, managing stress, and prioritizing restful sleep.  

What to expect 

Through practical guidance, participants are empowered to master the essentials and build a strong, sustainable foundation that will fit their lives. Each session offers tools to navigate common challenges and create a balanced approach to well-being. This approach empowers participants to build a strong, sustainable foundation for health by mastering the essentials.

What is group coaching?

Group coaching is a coaching method where one coach guides a small group, creating an environment for participants to learn from one another, share their experiences, and offer mutual support as they work towards shared health and well-being all within a structured program led by the coach.

What will the sessions entail?

The sessions will be interactive and designed to encourage reflection, discussion, and active participation. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions, share their thoughts, and continue meaningful conversations that foster learning and growth throughout the program.
