Nomination & Application Process

ELA is best suited for leaders who are moving into more strategic roles and/or have demonstrated strong mid-level management experience.

Step 1: To nominate a UI staff or faculty member who is new to or moving into a more strategic role and has demonstrated strong mid-level management experience: 

• Email oe-leader@uiowa.edu and include: nominee's name, department and email address.  
• Self-nominations are accepted.  
• Nominees will be contacted by a member of the academy administrative team to complete the on-line application.  

Step 2: Nominees need to complete the application by April 5, 2024. 

Step 3: After the application deadline, the ELA-Higher Education Selection Committee (comprised of alumni and academy administration) will review applications and provide recommendations. Upon final approval, applicants are notified. 

Step 4: Upon notification of acceptance into the academy, ELA-Higher Education participants will receive next steps on programming, scholarships and the Academy fee ($2000) payment process.
