Employment is Empowering is a one-day training event to support people with disabilities in finding their place in the workforce. This one-of-a-kind learning experience will connect employers and service providers to resources and information to help the process of recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees with disabilities. The event honors the memory of Bill Sackter--the original proprietor of Wild Bill’s Coffee Shop and perhaps Iowa City’s most beloved historical figure with disability--and takes place within a week of Bill Sackter Day, the annual observation of his birthday (April 13).social

Continuing Education (CEU) certification will be provided by the University of Iowa School of Social Work. Please contact Jen Knights with questions: jen-knights@uiowa.edu
