Outstanding HR Business Partner of the Year
Office of the Provost
The Outstanding HR Business Partner of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding University of Iowa HR generalist or specialist who exhibits key HR leadership competencies in managing projects, programs and initiatives, implements plans, and supports the HR strategy of their organization.
Tracey acts as the primary HR support for the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Hancher, International Programs, Pentacrest Museums, Stanley Museum of Art, and the Office of Student Financial Aid. Within these departments, she excels in getting to know her colleagues, learning what support they need, and how to best collaborate with each of them. She builds strong relationships and is heavily relied upon for her HR knowledge and expertise.

The Outstanding Strategic HR Business Partner of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding University of Iowa HR professional who exhibits key HR leadership competencies in developing and leading implementation plans, analyzing business information, and functioning as a strategic organizational leader and designer of HR strategy.
Suzanne plays a critical role in maintaining excellent HR Services with her commitment to policy compliance, collaboration, and strategic positioning.
Her dedication to infusing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout not only the HR enterprise, but to support staff and student-athletes within college athletics and their ever-evolving landscape, has promoted a standard of excellent support, respect, and belonging throughout the department.
Suzanne is an invaluable supervisor, leader, and strategic partner to the HR enterprise.

The HR Transaction Hub and I-9 Cohort team has provided outstanding partnership this year to achieve efficiency through standardization and consistent application of policies and practices, as well as improved accuracy for a better employee experience.
The teams have primarily focused on implementing this efficiency through academic campus, with a completion rate of 96%, and are expected to begin a training series in UI Healthcare this summer (June 2023).
