Hello, Leader.

Here's to summer and the opportunity to recharge, whether it's with family, friends, or quiet time to yourself. Summertime can be a slower time of year for some leaders, with employees vacationing and the break between school years. This could mean more mental and intellectual bandwidth to think about your own growth and development. Use peaceful summer moments to reflect on your leadership journey - where you want to go, and what you might want to change, grow, or improve upon. Read a leadership book you've been meaning to and try applying some of the principles you've gleaned.

Coaches Corner

If you're a leader at work, in the community or at home, it's likely you have had to drive some kind of change. Anticipating and addressing key questions before they are asked is a great strategy to bring people along and reduce resistance to your change.

The change management education company Prosci® offers these 10 most frequently asked questions people ask when they are impacted by change:

  • Why is change happening now?
  • What is the risk of not changing?
  • What is the rush?
  • If I wait long enough, will the change just go away?
  • What will the change mean to me?
  • What are my choices?
  • What are the benefits of supporting the change?
  • What if I disagree with the change?
  • What if they have tried before and failed?
  • What if I am forced to do more?

As you prepare to launch a new change in your organization, unit, or department, this list can serve as a checklist of topics to cover with your employees.
