Biography

Kate Moreland is the founder and CEO of Kate Moreland Consulting and as an experienced leader in economic and community development, has worked with non-profits, state and local government, education institutions and the private business sector. As an advocate for authenticity and well-being, Kate Moreland Consulting provides: 

  • Individual Empowerment Coaching 
  • Strategic Trainings and Workshops 
  • Wellbeing Workshops, Retreats and Talks 
  • Consulting for Strategic Planning  

Kate graduated from Creighton University with a BS in Psychology and the University of Iowa Law School in 1997. She worked as an attorney until 2005, and has been an adjunct faculty member at Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa College of Law. Kate served as the Development Director for United Action for Youth and as Director of Community Relations for the Iowa City Community School District. Most recently Kate served as CEO of Iowa City Area Development Group, a non-profit economic development organization that focused on workforce development, community and business development. Kate is skilled as a public speaker, facilitator and a change agent for businesses, communities and individuals. She is a certified coach, has a certificate in the Science of Well-Being from Yale, and is certified in the mind-body connection. She is also a master collaborator and is a certified fellow in Strategic Doing.  

Kate currently lives in Iowa City. She received an ISPRA Communication award in 2013 and was awarded the Corridor Business Journal Forty Under 40 in 2011. Additionally, she received an Ovation award from the Iowa Women’s Foundation in 2020.
